Kimmeridge (Dorset)

The village of stone cottages is set against a background of steep hills. The Bay, approached through a tollgate is an important Marine Biology Reserve and popular with skin divers.

Oil was discovered here in 1959. Until recently a nodding donkey pump on the cliff edge had produced oil for over 25 years.
