Wareham (Dorset)

Wareham, of Saxon origin, is the gateway to the “Isle”of Purbeck and the World Heritage Coast. Its grassy ramparts dating from the time of Alfred the Great enclose a thriving market town. The signposted Walls Walk offer fine views over the River Piddle.

Wareham Quay is the highest point of navigation on the River Frome and a boat trip can be taken along the river towards Poole Harbour.
