These delightful 3-bedroomed cottages with pretty, secluded gardens, are furnished and maintained to a high standard. They are well-placed for Weymouth, Lulworth and Purbeck, and surrounded by beautiful countryside with magnificent coastline. Mead and Mabel's Cottages are fully centrally heated and therefore warm and comfortable for all seasons. Short breaks available. Non-smokers only, and one dog accepted in Mead Cottage only.

The Area. Nestling in the Piddle Valley, surrounded by rolling hills and woods lies Puddletown, Thomas Hardy’s “Weatherbury”., with pretty thatched cottages near the church. The excellent village shop incorporates bakery, butchers, newsagents and P.O. Closeby is the antique bookshop and forge. The Blue Vinny Inn provides meals. Cricket and football matches are held on the sports field which also has an enclosed children’s play area. A pleasant walk through Puddletown Forest, amidst countryside rich in wildlife, leads you to Thomas Hardy’s Cottage. In the adjoining hamlet lies the delightful 15th Century Athelhampton House and Gardens and Tolpuddle, famous for its martyrs, is the next village. The lovely Roman town of Dorchester with its fascinating weekly market, museums and historic attractions is less than miles away. The Cottages Situated on the edge of the village, they are built on the site of the old Kings Arms coaching inn and, have been furnished, equipped and decorated to a high standard. They are warm and cosy at any time of the year. Mead Cottage. The attractive light and airy lounge/diner has a very well equipped kitchen area. A heated conservatory opens to a sheltered patio and cottage garden. There is a ground floor cloakroom w/c and upstairs a pretty double bedroom, two single bedrooms and bathroom with overbath shower. Relax in this south-facing garden, planted with shrubs, trees and flowers for year round interest. Mabel’s Cottage. The cosy and comfortable lounge/diner opens into a furnished and heated conservatory overlooking the patio and small walled garden. The separate well-equipped kitchen is also a breakfast room for two. There is a ground floor cloakroom with w/c. On the first floor is the double bedroom with floral fabrics; two single bedrooms and bathroom with overbath shower.These lovely cottages provide an excellent home from which to discover Dorset,’s unique attractions and World Heritage Coastline – all within an easy drive from Puddletown. ON ARRIVAL you will find everything you need including: Duvets with linen, colour TV and radio, cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, garden furniture, information leaflets, full gas central heating and double glazing, private parking, Local shops and pub within 150 yards. Things to Do. The surrounding countryside is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Jurassic Coast – England’s only natural World Heritage Site includes:- Weymouth and Studland’s sandy beaches; Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Ringstead; Portland and the Isle of Purbeck; Lyme Regis with Golden Cap’s towering cliff; Charmouth - famous for its fossils. Walking - superb both inland and coastal. Sightseeing:- Pretty villages of Abbotsbury,Milton Abbas,Cerne Abbas and its Giant. Dramatic Corfe Castle,Brownsea Island and many more National Trust properties. Dorchester’s County & Dinosaur Museums; Tutankhamun exhibition and the Iron Age Hill Fort at nearby Maiden Castle. The Tank Museum at Bovington, and Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton. Historic Towns of Sherborne and Shaftesbury are well worth a visit.
