Set a mile from the Jurassic and Heritage coastline, which offer wonderful walks. The Georgian seaside town of Weymouth offers a magnificent sandy beach, enjoy watching the boats and fishing vessels from the seafront or many restaurants, cafes and shops. A drive east from the cottages offers wonderful sea and coastal views whilst enjoying the many chocolate box villages such as Abbotsbury with its sub-tropical gardens and Swannery, Burton Bradstock and West Bay. There are varied activities close by with sailing and windsurfing in the sheltered harbour, sea fishing. Birdwatchers can enjoy the two RSPB reserves Radipole and Lodmoor at Weymouth, Portland Bill and Lighthouse is another great bird watching spot. Golf 2 miles (discount fees available) and riding stables. Sealife Centre, Monkey World, Bovington Tank Museum, Abbotsbury Swannery and the Swanage Steam Railway are great family days out.
